The Blurb:

Hunter Holt might be the most stubborn ex-soldier ever born, but when he’s called on to help find a lost foster kid, he jumps into action. Even if it means working with the woman who broke his heart five years ago—the woman who still haunts his dreams . . .

Faye Smith has spent five long years trying to get her life back on track. She knows she should’ve turned toward Hunter and not away from him. But they both had too many demons to destroy. Maybe now they’ll get another chance—and save someone else’s life too . . .

But first they’ll have to stop arguing long enough to trust the Deep Ops team. Hunter was a lost boy himself once. In fact, he ran away from the exact same man, their monster of a father. Now he and Faye will have to unite to find the brother he never knew—and maybe each other . . .

My Review

5 Completely and Forever Stars

Taken was an awesome second chance romance. Hunter Holt and Faye Smith had a powerful connection. I was totally rooting for them from the start. Their love story was very sweet and felt real. This read was a novella, but it didn't feel rushed or thin. The action was spot on, the romance well developed, and the plot was intriguing. I loved every minute of this book. Faye and Hunter made a cute couple. Jackson stole my heart. Raider has me waiting impatiently for his story which is coming in September. Can't wait for Fallen! I loved getting more of Wolfe again. He was my favorite from book 1 and I can't wait for him to get his own love story. I also have to say there was a Dark Protector cameo that had me losing my fangirl mind. Overall a great read and I'm really enjoying this series!

My Review

2 Where's the romance Stars

I love Katie Ruggle. I was over the moon for her Search and Rescue series. So when I seen In Her Sights on Netgalley and seen it was a start of a new series I was so excited, but this book was such a let down for me. It took me over two weeks to get this book read. I was so bored I kept putting it down and would try again a few days later and get bored within 10 mins of restarting. Top that off with the fact that there was not much romance to speak of and this book fell flat for me. The whole book Molly was prickly and combative. I'm sure it was meant to be cute but it just came off bitchy and annoying. They didn't even share their first kiss til 82% then they jumped straight from their first kiss to one of the flattest sex scenes I have ever read. after that no more real romance just action. Then after failing on the romance front it ends with a cliffhanger and no closures. So as much as I love Katie Ruggle I think I will skip the rest of this series.
