Rough Ride

Book Review Rough Ride (True Brothers MC Series)

Title:Rough Ride

Series: True Brothers MC Series

Author: Gillian Archer

Date Published:July 24th 2018

Date Read: July 22, 2018

The Blurb:

Amber:
Two years ago I would’ve made a play for a guy like “Bam” in a heartbeat. That was before my father died in a puddle of blood in the middle of a parking lot, before I swore off his fellow bikers and their stupid “business.” But I still need answers about what happened to my dad, which is why I’m poking around at a nightclub owned by the Russian mafia. And that’s where I run into Bam, who carries me out of the club in his ridiculously strong arms like I was True Brothers property.

Bam:
Motorcycle club princess Amber Bennett is the last person I’d expect to see at a club like Howl. She’s flirting with some dangerous people, and it’s my duty to step in and protect her before she gets in over her head. Like I don’t have enough on my mind without cleaning up Amber’s drama. Besides, she’s the definition of off-limits. If only she weren’t so f***ing hot. And determined to take care of everything herself. And oddly vulnerable. Because when we cross the line, I’m forced to choose between my true family — or my true feelings.

My Review

4.5 Bam stole my heart Stars

Rough Ride, the 4th book in the True Brothers MC series, was so good. This book is Stitch's Daughter Amber and Bam's story. I love seeing them get their HEA. In the last book my heart broke when Stitch was killed. So seeing the aftermath of his death and how strong his family ending up becoming was bitter sweet. Bam in the last book made some mistakes and felt like he let his brothers down. I loved seeing Bam as a strong protector in this book. He was sexy, tough, and loyal. He loved hard and put it all on the line for his woman. I loved Amber too. She was sweet and sassy. She loved her family and gave everything to hold them together after losing her father. I loved Bam and Amber together. There was such a great build up to their relationship. They had so much sexual tension that when they got together it was smokin' hot. I really loved the plot of this book. I loved how Bam stepped up to protect Amber from her crazy Russian mob boss stalker. Speaking of Russian mafia bosses, am I the only one that really liked Ruslan's crazy stalker ass? I mean I don't know why but I found him hot and sweet in his own crazy kinda way. This book was a great read for me. It would have been a 5 star read but towards the end Amber had a moment when she should have stood by her man, but she ran and it really left a bitter taste in my mouth. Other than that this book had tons of action, romance, and sexy bad ass bikers. I can't wait to see what's next!

Unlawful Entry

Book Review Unlawful Entry (Carnal Mischief Series)

Title:Unlawful Entry

Series: Carnal Mischief Series

Author: Ember Cole

Date Published:July 16th 2018

Date Read: July 15, 2018

The Blurb:

Tonight, I’ll be her fantasy man…

I have a thing for my next-door neighbor’s sexy best friend. I like to picture all the things I’ll do to her, imagine the noises she’ll make as I own her gorgeous body in a hundred different ways, hear her screaming my name…

Okay, maybe it’s more than a thing.

Ryssa’s a knockout, sure, but she’s smart, and kind, and funny, and sweetly naïve, too. She triggers all of my protective instincts, but I won’t let myself have her. I may be one of NYPD’s finest, but in my mind, I’ll always be that worthless, troublemaking kid from Hell’s Kitchen.

She deserves better.

Which is why, when I find out her best friend’s setting her up with a night of anonymous, blindfolded sex, I lose my everloving mind.

If anyone is checking off every item on Ryssa’s secret fantasy list, it’s going to be me.

And with her firm “no talking” rule, I’m going to have to get real creative once I decide to make this beautiful girl mine…

UNLAWFUL ENTRY is a hot as hell standalone M/F romance with a cop determined to fulfill every fantasy on your list. As with all my books, there is no cheating, and a HEA is guaranteed!

My Review

After reading Private Prick(book 2) and really not liking it I was worried about starting this book. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. Ryssa was cute nerdy, sweet, smart and she knew what she wanted in bed. Zach was so yummy. The sexy cop neighbor that was a dirty talking beast in bed. He was sweet and protective. I could feel the connection between Ryssa and Zach, and the smexy time was hot! I really liked the ending. Sweet HEA! Over all I really liked this book and I am glad I gave Ember Cole a second chance.

My Review

4 Fast love Stars

Fast Fury was my first time reading a Kaylea Cross book and it was good. I liked her writing

style and the flow of the book. Abby was very likable. She was smart, sweet, and brave. Kai

was very sexy and protective. The smexy time in this book was smokin' hot. Lots of great

action. I just wanted it to be longer. I needed more of a build up to Abby and Kai's

relationship. Other than that it was a great read.

Private Prick

Book Review Private Prick (Carnal Mischief Series)

Title:Private Prick

Series: Carnal Mischief Series

Author: Ember Cole

Date Published:   July 9th 2018

Date Read:   July 6, 2018

The Blurb:

I was only supposed to be a distraction…

When I get the call that a tenant is trapped in the building’s decrepit elevator, I climb down the shaft, drop in through the ceiling...and come face to face with Bekka Zoler, the sexy little redhead who’s starred in more than one of my fantasies.

And she’s pissed.

Turns out her boyfriend failed to mention he had a fiancée, and now she’s feeling all sorts of vulnerable…and claustrophobic. I have to do something to distract her while we wait for the repairman to get her out of this metal box.

So I kiss her.

It’s either the best or worst idea I’ve ever had, because next thing I know, I have her pinned to the wall and I’m doing wicked things to her body.

Bekka’s not even remotely ready for a relationship, and I can’t blame her. Problem is, the chemistry is insane between us, and I know she feels it, too.

It’s time to convince the gorgeous spitfire that I’m the man for her, and this thing between us will last longer than one night.

PRIVATE PRICK is a hot as hell standalone M/F romance with a very…dynamic, dirty-talking hero. As with all my books, there is no cheating, and a HEA is guaranteed!

My Review

1.5 Not For Me Stars

*Spoilers*

"I'm not staying here in this teeny, tiny, dark, awful, airless, enclosed"-her throat moves as she swallows, and panic flashes in her eyes-"box with some stranger."- Bekka
........ a few minutes later....

"The only regret I'm likely to have is if you don't make me come before the goddamn elevator repair guys get here." -Bekka
Private Prick was my first book by Ember Cole and it really didn't work for me. The first few pages in I felt like something was off. It felt awkward. But I pressed on wanting to give this book a fair try. It never really got better for me. I had to force myself to finish it. I didn't hate it but I didn't like it. Adam was okay for me. Nothing special but okay. Bekka on the other hand took this book from boring to annoying in 5 seconds flat. She was just so stupid. She was like "I'm trying to find a real connection, but all I find is losers!" She was going around sleeping with, and having oral sex with men within minutes of meeting them and she was surprised that they hit it and quit it? Trying to find the real thing on Tinder... really? Don't go looking for a man at a bar and be shocked if you find a alcoholic. I'm totally cool if you want to go out and have sex for the enjoyment of it. But don't go handing your shit out like it's gum and then be all like "All I find is dogs? Where are all the real men?"

"For you being hung like a goddamn elephant," she says, making my ego surge along with my cock. "I had a hunch you would be." I cup her ass hard, holding her against me. "Did you also have a hunch I'd end up fucking you senseless before the day was over?" She giggles, but her eyes go a little wider. "I did. Am I psychic?"-Bekka and Adam

"Let's set you free, shall we?" "God, yes." She jerks the zipper down, then reaches into the waistband of my boxer shorts. "Oooh, you're a boxers guy," she says. "I wouldn't have guessed."-Bekka and Adam

Bekka came off immature like a high school girl trying to play like a grown woman. Oh and she was a bitch. At least She had condoms. Score one for safe sex. Still it's hard to feel bad for a woman that was upset that her "boyfriend" had a fiancée when she was five minutes into meeting the hero in the elevator, and she was letting him go down on her. Other than the absurdity of Bekka and her boyfriend issues, the book felt forced and rushed. I didn't feel a connection between the H&H nor did I personally feel a connection to the book. It kinda came off like a awkward porno where the plumber comes to fix the pipes and gets his "pipe" clean instead. It was a bit cheesy at times.

"Please fuck me, Adam." "Yes, ma'am." She grins. "I love it when you talk military to me."-Bekka and Adam

"I-look, you're a really nice guy." Is there anything worse than being told you're a nice guy? "-but I just don't see us dating,"-Bekka and Adam

Than after going on about not being able to find a good guy she slept with Adam(a good guy) and then told him to get out they can't date. I wonder why she can't find a nice guy? Is it because she is a stupid bitch? Yes it is! I don't know if you can tell but I couldn't stand Bekka.. I'm sorry but I didn't like this book. I may try this author again. I believe I have a second ARC book for her but this one was a miss for me.

My Review

5 Everything Stars

May have mild spoilers

It's Not Over, by Grahame Claire, was a great read. When I was asked to read this book I went into it completely blind, having only read the synopsis. In my head I figured from the synopsis, that it would be a second chance/contemporary romance, it was much more. From the opening line of this book I was totally hooked. This read took me for a ride. Though it was a contemporary romance it was also suspenseful, mysterious, angsty, heartbreaking, and sweet. This book was written and flowed so well that I couldn't believe this was the debut book for Grahame Claire.

I’m going to spread your legs and feast on your pussy until you won’t be able to think of anything else but how good I make you feel. You’ll be so addicted to me, I’ll have to go into hiding to rest my mouth.” -Daniel

“I don’t know what’s going on. When I asked him, he shut down. But I’m scared, V. This afternoon, his eyes looked like they used to. Before you came to us. There was nothing in them. They were just… cold.”-Muriella

The hero Daniel was an enigma in the start of the book. He was also really intriguing. I was very drawn to him, I wanted to figure him out. Figure out his past and why he was doing the things he was doing. There was so much depth to Daniel. He was Protective, sweet, loyal, smart, and sexy. He could also be cold, withdrawn, and at times he could be cruel. Daniel may have been a bad boy that played on both sides of the law, but he was a good man. Vivian was great too. She was strong, independent, and a fighter. She had some serious sass, but she was also sweet, caring and down to earth. I love that she fought for their relationship, their love. That she showed her vulnerability and pain without fear, and that she was honest. My heart broke for her and at times I could feel her pain as if it was my own.

“If you were attempting to hurt me, you succeeded.” He closed his eyes, and it almost felt as if he couldn’t stand to look at me. “I don’t want to hurt you, V. I’m trying my damnedest not to.” The words were whisper soft and so full of anguish, my heart broke for him. I pushed up onto my toes, brushed my lips against his, his forehead fell against mine. “Then stop lying to both of us.”-Vivian and Daniel

“I need you to make me a promise.” “I don’t know if I can, but I’ll try.” “No matter what, you will fight for me. For us. I can’t be with someone who won’t do that.” He cupped my face, his solemn eyes looking deep into mine. “That’s a promise I can easily make.” -Vivian and Daniel

When the book starts it's 8 years into Daniel and Vivian's relationship. The book jumps back and forth between the present and the past, when Daniel and Vivian first fell in love. I loved getting to see how their relationship started. I also really, really loved that Vivian didn't just jump into bed with Daniel. She made him work for it, spend time with her, get to know each other. Causal sex in books is fine. I read them all the time, but not everyone is like that, and it was nice to see something a little different. There is some push/pull in this book and it worked well. The secondary characters, Muriella and Stone were interesting too. Their budding romance and Muriella past has me hoping their book comes out soon. I really loved this book. I am so glad I was asked to read it. I have been in a book funk for a while now and this book was different enough that it got me hooked and keep me entertained.

“It’s not over. Not for us, princess.” I bent and smashed my mouth to his. “I knew it wasn’t,” I said against his lips. “Thank you,” he said softly. “You saved me. Again.” “No one will ever take you away from me. Not even you.” He stood and set me on his desk. His eyes glittered as he looked down. “Not even me.” -Daniel and Vivian
