The Blurb:

When two worlds collide, it can only be fate.

Collin knows trouble when he sees it. A beautiful girl crashing into his car? She should be flashing a neon DANGER sign. He knows better than to get involved with a fresh-faced babe who could break his already-tattered heart. After graduating from college, he's on track to start over in a new place. He's discovering what he wants from life, away from the shadow of his overbearing father and the betrayal of his cheating ex-fiancĂ©.

Veronica's home life morphs from trailer park to homeless after a bloody fight between her brother and her ex. She's on the run from a situation that promises to be deadly. Without a home, money, or friends, she's at Collin's mercy.

Fate brought them together. Will a secret from her past tear them apart?

My Review

3 Okay Stars

Tempting Fate is the first book by Brinda Berry I have read and while it wasn't a bad read it didn't really do it for me either. It's the second book in the series and can be read as a standalone as I had no problem following the story. I don't know what it was about this book but it just fell flat on me. I didn't connect to the couple. Their relationship bored me and I felt no connection to them at all. I found both of them individually lackluster. I don't know what it was about the book that didn't work for me. I can't pin point anything that turned me off. I just didn't feel it. Nothing about it was bad or made me angry I just never got into it. And while this book didn't work for me, I would give the author another try.

Fan the Flames

Book Review of Fan The Flames (Search and Rescue series)

Title: Fan The Flames

Series: Search and Rescue Series

Author: Katie Ruggle

Date Published:June 7th  2016

Date Read:    August 01, 2016

The Blurb:

In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder...

As a Motorcycle Club member and firefighter, Ian Walsh is used to riding the line between the good guys and the bad. He may owe the Club his life, but his heart rests with his fire station brothers...and with the girl he's loved since they were kids, Rory Sorenson. Ian would do anything for Rory. He'd die for her. Kill for her. Defend her to his last breath-and he may just have to.

Every con in the Rockies knows Rory is the go-to girl for less-than-legal firearms, and for the past few years, she's managed to keep the peace between dangerous factions by remaining strictly neutral. But when she defends herself against a brutal attack, Rory finds herself catapulted into the center of a Motorcycle Club war-with only Ian standing between her and a threat greater than either of them could have imagined.

My Review

Fan the Flames was a great read. The romance was a lot slower in this one than in the others, and that is saying something since all the books are slow burns. I loved Ian. Rory was a little off putting at times but I warmed to her. Loved all the action and the plot just keeps getting deeper and deeper. I am so glad that after I read George's book I went back and read the others. Really loved George in this book too. I really liked Chris in this book as well. I got to know him a little better. This book made me smile, laugh and you know it has sexy firefighters so Win! Glad I found this series and this author. I can't wait for book 4 to come out!!!
