The Blurb:

Teague Hollingsworth crashed into my perfectly predictable life like a rocket, turning everything upside down and setting it ablaze.
It was the world’s worst first impression and one I’m not likely to forget . . .
Until he shows up just when I need him.
It turns out he’s not at all the man I thought he was.
He’s kind to my dogs.
He’s protective of me.
And he doesn't seem to mind the chaos.
Slowly, he's winning my trust . . . and maybe my heart.
But there's more to this man than I could’ve imagined.
Shadows and secrets that threaten what I love the most.
I've lost everything once.
I won't do it again.
Not even for him.

My Review

4 Puppy love stars

Grahame Claire is a favorite contemporary romance author duo that I go to when I'm in a book funk. I know I'm going to get endearing characters, a plot that keeps me engaged, and a great romance. So I was excited to find they had a new series coming out and it was starring a sexy fireman. I dived in as soon as I got a free minute and didn't stop till the end. I really enjoyed this book. Teague and Pepper were so cute. I loved them both. The dogs omg the dogs were cuteness overload, but my favorite was Ash. Teague was sexy, protective, and had a great heart. Pepper had a hard life, but she was brave, loving and strong. This book was a super slow burn which is why it got 4 stars instead of five. I needed that kiss sooner lol. Still it had great character development that made you feel like you really knew Teague, Pepper, and Miss Adeline. I really loved seeing favorite couples from other books and catching up with them. I think maybe it's time for a Christmas novella or some kind of reunion novella for the past couples....Hint......Hint! The plot had me guessing and re-guessing what was going to happen next. I have so many question!!!!!! The book ended in a cliffhanger that had me scream "omg ......nooooooooo!!!!! omg why????? I need to know what will happen next! You can't end that way you can't do this to me." My husband use to my crazy book outburst was like savage cliffhanger? and I was all like Yessssss omg. I truly can't wait for the next book. I need to know what happens. I need to know what is up with Teague father. I need to see if Ash lives with Teague and Pepper forever. I just need the next book!!!!!!!!!!!

4 New Family Stars

Dark Challenge the 5th book in the Dark series by Christine Feehan was a nice read. But for me a little slow which is why it's a 4 star and not 5. Julian and Desari are a very sweet couple and I enjoyed reading about Desari's family. There is just something I love about the Carpathian series. It's my Happy Zone. The whole lifemate thing is so sweet. I love the idea of one soul mate fated forever. Though a few things happened in this book for the most part it was a more laid back easy read and focused more on Julian and Desari's relationship.

You seem to forget I am no fledgling but your equal. Do not waste your energy attempting the impossible. Destroy this vampire if you must, then return to me quickly. We will discuss your conceit on the next rising.-Desari

"I want you so much, Desari, just like this, so wild with need you cannot be without me. Feel it, the fire between us, my body in yours where I belong. I am part of you like your heart, like your breasts." He bent to lavish attention on her nipples, pulling strongly with his mouth. "I never want this to end."-Julian

Julian was a very laid back chilled kinda guy. He had a very sarcastic sense of humor. Julian could be pretty caveman in his thinking but most of the Carpathian men are. Julian had a very lonely life. He had a secret that he was deeply ashamed about. Julian was a quick learner when it came to women, his lifemate in particular. He gave up his idea of women listening and obeying for the pipe dream it was, and learned to compromise. Desari was very independent and confident in herself. Desari loved her family and career and had no plans of giving them up. She was an ancient like Julian so she had her own power and good control over it. Desari was a bit of a trouble maker, she didn't like being dictated to. Desari fought her relationship with Julian for a very short time, but for the most part jumped right in.

"I believe in God, Julian. I always have. Living through the centuries as we have, I have witnessed many wonderful, miraculous things he has wrought. I believe we were created two halves of the same whole. I had no idea this was so until I met you, but I am now convinced. I would never want another, never fit with another. I can feel that we are right together, and I do not believe God would put together two creatures who did not suit one another." -Desari

"Then I will have to be more careful the next time to be slow and thorough. I want you to be completely satisfied in all things, lifemate." Her slender arms circled his neck. "You know I am. And if you were much more thorough, we might both be dead."-Julian and Desari

Both Julian and Desari were pretty accepting of finding their lifemate the bumps in their relationship were more from learning to live together. There was a lot of steamy hot sex in this book as our couple couldn't keep their hands off each other. Julian and Desari got along well together and Julian fit in nicely with Desari's family.

You are the lifemate of a sensitive, modern male. Julian's lazy amusement warmed her further, confirming what she already suspected, that he often stayed a shadow in her mind. How fortunate for me.-Julian and Desari

"The way you love me, Julian, so beautifully, so much, that is the way I love you. You are everything to me. If only we have the next few moments together, everything that came before was worth the time we have had."-Desari

I really loved getting to know the members of Desari's family Darius, Dayan, Barack, and Syndil. Barack is a bit of a playboy. He is the only Carpathian male in the whole series where they tell you he messed around with other women, not that other Carpathian males are virgins the books just don't talk about it. You don't have to see it but,Syndil is his lifemate so she had to watch for years while he ran around with human women. But to Barack credit he didn't know Syndil was his lifemate, They didn't get raised with other Carpathian's. They didn't know what lifemates were and they were raised as babies together. So for a long time he thought his feelings were because they were raised like brother and sister. When he figures out she is his lifemate he doesn't touch another.  Syndil was attacked by a vampire so she was very withdrawn, and fearful of men. She carries shame feeling like she somehow caused the attack. Dayan has a poet soul. Dayan is more of a lover not a fighter kind of guy. Darius is my favorite of the group. He is a lot like Gregori which is understandable since him and Desari are Gregori's lost brother and sister. Darius is very powerful. He has a lot of honor and raised all the others since they were babies when he was only 6. He is bossy, and arrogant of course. I can't wait for Darius's book! Overall a great read and a nice addition to the series!

"You have a perfect mouth, Julian. An amazingly perfect mouth." He arched an eyebrow at her. "Just my mouth is amazing?" "You are such a man." Her eyes laughed at him. "You need constant reassurance that you are magnificent." He nodded. "Magnificent. I like that. I could live with magnificent. Good choice of words, lifemate."-Desari and Julian

Driven

Book Review of Driven (Deep Ops Series)

Title:  Driven

Series: Deep Ops Series

Author: Rebecca Zanetti

Date Published:    January 26th 2021

Date Read:  January 20th 2021

The Blurb:
Unswerving: Angus Force is determined to hunt down the serial killer he'd once shot dead--or so he thought. But an anonymous source reports that Lassiter is alive. Force hasn't slept since, knowing it's only a matter of time before "the Surgeon" strikes again. And soon, a body is found, bearing Lassiter's same maniacal MO. It's just the beginning of a murderous trail blazing through DC and Virginia, right to Force's backyard...

Unstoppable: Nari Zhang is the shrink for the ragtag Deep Ops Unit, though she isn't Force's shrink--which is a very good thing. Because once they're thrown together on the case, their attraction is explosive and irresistible. They'll just have to fight that much harder to keep the heat between them from flaming out of control. But things are about to become far more challenging, and deadly, than they could have imagined...

Unhinged: Once the killer catches a glimpse of Nari, she becomes his new obsession. She is now the focus point--for both Force and Lassiter--in a dangerous dance for survival...

My Review

5 Finally Stars

The sexual tension between Angus and Nari has been building since book 1. I had some high expectations for this couple. Angus has been obsessed with Lassiter to the point of being a broken drunk mess. Nari was this smart, classy shrink out of place with all the outcast agents on Force's team. I wanted her backstory so badly. I wanted to know why she was working with all those bad boys. I knew I would enjoy this book because Rebecca Zanetti is so talented, but I didn't know how much I would love this book. Angus and Nari were everything I hoped for.

Angus was just so deliciously tortured. I knew that Lassiter murdered Angus' sister, but the pain and guilt that this book gave us reader omg. No wonder Angus drinks to numb the pain. My heart bled for him. Nari's past was a bit of a surprise for me. I liked the amount of depth it gave her. In the other books I liked Nari, but she was always closed off. I felt like finding out her background made her real to me. Both super smart and stubborn it was fun watching Angus and Nari dance around each other, but OMG when they came together it was explosive. I loved every bit of their relationship.

This book kept me on the edge the whole read. It was almost non stop action. I truly didn't know what would happen next. I also didn't know who the killer was until it was revealed. Angus and Nari had more lives than a cat. Both kicked major ass too. I love a bad ass hero but omg when you have a kickass heroine it's so much hotter. There was tons of time with my favorite Wolfe. He's just so yummy. I enjoyed time with all the past couples. They feel like family so it's nice to see how they are all doing. I loved the ending. Well really I loved the whole book. I hope Jethro gets his own book. I totally recommend this book. I recommend the whole series.....actually I would recommend all of Rebecca Zanetti's book. She is an amazing author and I have never read a book from her that I didn't love.
