The Blurb:

Some games are hotter off the ice…

Sofia Phillips feels cursed. Her father cheated on her mother, her boyfriend cheated on her—she’s done with dating. A summer work-exchange program in Finland is the perfect escape. But instead of gaining experience as an athletic trainer, she’s cleaning toilets. Awesome. The trip is a disaster, and even better, she meets Kyle Bennett. In the sauna. Naked.

Sexy hockey player Kyle was the star right wing for an NHL team. But after an accident killed his wife and left him injured, Kyle has appreciated the “therapeutic” benefits of booze and puck bunnies. Now in Finland for the summer, he’s coaching in an elite hockey-training camp for teens. When Sofia's grandmother decides to set her up with a nice Finnish man, Sofia recruits Kyle as her make-believe boyfriend. Neither expects their first kiss to sizzle. And neither expects, while stranded on an island during a storm, to have a scorching night of passion.

But as their charade, and then their attraction, develops into something deeper, the past comes back, threatening to destroy them. They must decide if their feelings for each other are strong enough to survive—or it will be game over.

My Review

2 I didn't really like it stars

There will be So Many Major Spoilers

Please don't read my review if you don't like spoilers because I'm about to tell the reasons this book didn't work for me and it will have major spoilers in it.

Sorry I tried really I did. But this was just not for me. The writing was good which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1, but I really didn't like this book at all. I didn't like that fact that it was a kind of love triangle. I didn't really like the hero or the heroine, although I disliked the heroine the most by far. Kyle was a bad boyfriend in my opinion. He drank too much. Like you know when his girlfriend's grandma had a heart attack and was in the hospital. Instead of being there for her he stops at the bar and has a few shots. Oh lets not forget that the day after he sleeps with her and they become "Friends with benefits" he goes to the bar with he friend Nik (who only goes out to drink and score) and gets drunk and lets some woman grab his junk and kiss him. Now he really wasn't dating Sofia and he did stop her and tell her he didn't want her and left but still he let it go to far. He also doesn't tell her who he was (ex NHL player) or about his past til almost the end. Still he was way better then Sofia was. She was a horrible girlfriend. For starters she goes on and on about trust and truth but all through the book she keeps things from Kyle. Like how her "Just friend" Joni kissed her. So let me just dive right on into the bull that was Joni/Kyle/Sofia kinda love triangle. Sofia's grandma tries to set her up with Joni and she wants to be his friend. Which is fine, but he does everything he can to disrespect her love for Kyle. He tries to break them up and not once did she say anything to him stick up for their relationship, set boundaries anything. And as the book went on it just ticked me off more and more...

Let's see Joni knows her and Kyle are dating (as they make out in front of him all the time and they both told him) so what does he do he comes on a group date and brings a girl to flirt with Kyle on purpose. Trying to get Kyle to cheat on Sofia. I mean the women licked his shoulder with Sofia standing right there!! Doesn't Sofia notice nope. Blind!!! Then Joni asks Sofia to be his "just friends" date for a family wedding because of course the slut he just tried to get Kyle to mess up with was suppose to go with him and can't. So she goes knowing it's going to not only be a date and upsets the man she loves but that they will be gone together for a few days. So when on this date the hotel only has one room with one bed. Really??? And she sleeps on that bed with Joni. Are you fucking kidding me? Cause if Kyle did that shit she would have been pissed. Oh lets not forget that Joni kisses her on said wedding date and she doesn't slap him or tell him to never touch her again. And she doesn't tell Kyle. OH lets not forget that Joni also made sure that the slut that was "suppose" to be his date but couldn't make it somehow knew where Kyle would be and showed up naked in his lock room shower trying to throw herself at him repeatedly while he tried to get away from her. Then Kyle texted Sofia and tells her the second he gets a chance and she says and does nothing again. Great girlfriend am I right????

Okay so the cherry on top was that she finds out that her dead cheating ex boyfriend Ian is the drunk driver that killed Kyle's wife Gabby and ruined his hockey career and instead of telling him she runs and ignores his calls and text for days. Top that off with the fact that I learned more about coaching hockey than them as people and that the book dragged on and on. That I alternated between being bored and angry the whole book to say I didn't like it is an understatement. The best thing about this book is the yummy cover! It's just a case of a book and my personality not being a good fit!

Falling Completely

Book Review of Falling Completely (Starling Falls series)

Title: Falling Completely

Series: Starling Falls Series

The Blurb:

MALIYA

Falling in love is not for me. I don’t do relationships, they never end well.
I don’t believe in fate, soul mates or happy, fairy tale endings. I’m definitely not a sweet little princess in search of her prince.
I have a plan to follow and falling in love is not part of that plan.
Nothing is going to change my mind.
Not even a domineering, gorgeous, blue-eyed firefighter who seems to be everywhere I go.

CALEB

The moment I saw her, I knew.
I knew the funny, curvy, raven haired beauty was supposed to be mine.
She may not agree with me at the moment, but I’m a patient man.
I’m not afraid to play dirty to get what I want.
And I want Maliya Abbott.

When her sister decides to move from London, across the Atlantic Ocean to Starling Falls to run an estranged relative’s bakery, Maliya Abbott is pretty sure her sister has lost her ever-loving mind.

Not wanting to be separated from the only family she has left, Maliya goes with her, a move that was only supposed to last a year. After all, training to be a doctor at the same University her parents did had always been her goal.
What she hadn’t planned on, was meeting Caleb Jameson. A man who is adamant they are destined to be together. That would be great, if she actually believed in any of that crap.

She also hadn’t planned on his insane, lovable, meddling family trying to derail her plans.

Maliya is a smart girl. She knows what she wants and what she doesn’t want. She definitely wants to go to Oxford University and train to become a doctor. She definitely does NOT want anything to do with Caleb Jameson.

Now, if only she could get her stupid heart to listen to her head.

My Review

3 I loved the Hero Stars

* Spoilers*

* Spoilers*
So this book was just an Okay read for me. I am totally the minority here as all my friends loved it. I would have 5 stared the shit outta this book if it didn't have one of my biggest pet peeves in it taking away from my enjoyment. There was a lot of funny parts that made me laugh, some super sexy parts, and some sweet parts too. But this book had one major point of frustration for me. See my biggest pet peeve next to cheating is major cowardly behavior. Nothing ruins a book for me more than a huge coward. I understand being afraid. Everyone has fears, but when the entire basis of a book is the irrational fear of the hero or heroine( in this book the heroine) causing them to push the other away the whole read like a coward hurting the one they love over and over again it straight infuriates me. That normally ruins a book for me so bad that I almost always ends up giving it a 1 or 2 star, but this book had enough funny and sweet moments that it was still a pretty good read even with the heroine making me want to commit bodily harm to her and that is saying a lot!

I really liked Caleb a lot. I thought he was sexy. Hello he is a firefighter! Men in uniforms yummy! He was also this possessive, sweet, dirty talker. He really helped save the book for me. I really liked how he didn't take no for an answer. Liya was okay for me. She had her good moments in which she was sassy, and funny. But she drove me bat shit crazy with her cowardly behavior. I wanted to shake her and beat her half the time. It made me so mad how she constantly hurt Caleb over some stupid irrational fear. I mean damn girl everyone has had some kind of shit happen in their lives get the hell over it already. I could have probably gotten over it had she pushed him away just once or even the second time, but the third time...... After he had a horrible day at work. After he shows up at her house crying because he had tried to save some people in a wreck and they died. She took him in made love to him. Made him think they were back together and then tells him the next morning that was a goodbye fuck nope. I was pretty much done with her ass at that point. She didn't deserve Caleb after that.

That all being said I loved Caleb's family. They were amazing. They really added something special to the book. I really hope they all get their own books because I am wanting to see them all get their HEA especially Nate and Alex. I also really liked Mik(Caleb's best friend) I really would like him to get his own book too, maybe where he is paired with Caleb's sister God that would make for a cute couple!! While this book was only an okay read for me that isn't because of anything but personal pet peeves. I think this book was well written, funny, and cute I just didn't like the crap that Liya pulled. I would still recommend this to most of my friend as I know most romance readers would love this book! I will continue reading the series.

My Review

4 Too blind to see Stars

                         *Some Spoilers*

"Danny, after all theses years...you must know..." Six years of yearning condensed into that single moment. "You have to know how I feel about you."-Max

Wanting To Remember, Trying To Forget was an entertaining, angsty, and at times frustrating read. This book had me all over the board on emotions. I have been sitting here for 2 days trying to figure out how to write my thoughts on this book. 2 days!! There were parts of this book I loved. Parts that made me angry. Parts that made me laugh my butt off and parts that made me yell at my kindle. My poor family had to put up with crazy Jessica while I read this book. One minute I'm laughing loud like a crazy woman and the next I'm yelling " What the hell is wrong with you.. Why can't you see what is right in front of you!! God you're an idiot!!" What can I say I'm passionate about my books people(or crazy) whatever! At times I wanted to line up just about every character in this book and do this to them

"This one dimple attracts a lot of women." "So what you're saying is that it's your personality that eventually has them running in the opposite direction? Maybe if you had two, they'd consider staying more than a week." "No, I'm content with one." He stretched his arms arrogantly and clasped his hands at the back of his head. "Statistically, they say men with one dimple- on average- have bigger penises."-Max and Danny

But the funny thing is that I didn't hate or dislike any of the characters, well I hated Richard(Danny's ex boyfriend). I will say though that Danny drove me crazy at times. I wanted to shake her so hard! She somehow managed to make me want to beat her for the way she was with Max and I still liked her. And Max OMG Max...... I straight up loved the shit outta him! I'm just sayin' he was one sexy nerd. So shy and sweet and that damn one dimple I swear to God he was just so cute. I loved that both MC's were imperfect. They had tempers and did stupid things. They were real and down to earth. Which made it easier to connect with them. I also loved that they are both inexperienced in the bedroom. Danny being a virgin and Max only having had sex 2 times, years ago. I hate when I read a book where the virgins lay the pipe like sex gods, it's just so unbelievable. So I was glad that both Max and Danny were not magical sex gods but instead two people who had to teach each other. They learned slowly and together and got good together. But their inexperienced didn't make things boring. OMG the sex in this book was hot! That bathroom scene where Max goes all possessive caveman and angry fucks her on the floor OMG!!

"So you think all these women are just waiting to jump you?" "Of course. Statistics don't lie, Danny. They probably saw the one dimple and now they know what I'm packing beneath these well-tailored trousers."-Danny and Max
Although their relationship was angsty and intense, it was also romantic and sweet. I loved it. Their road was a bumpy one, but I loved the ride. I loved Max and Danny together. They were cute, and had a connection that stood out. I won't be forgetting them or this story anytime soon. A real gem in this book was Charlie. Charlie really shined for me. He made me laugh so hard. The hate/hate relationship with him and Danny had was one of the highlights of this book for me. The things they said to each other, so funny..... Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was a slower burn but it was a passionate read. I really wished this book had an epilogue. I really liked Max's family and I am guessing that they will be getting their own books. I really can't wait to read Kevin's book. I recommend this book to anyone who loves intense, angsty, best friends to lovers books. Below I leave a few of my favorite Charlie/ Danny moments....

"So," Charlie began, taking a seat on the opposite end of the sofa, "have you sacrificed any small children lately?" "Just the little innocent one I found lost and alone at the grocery store yesterday. You still downloading illegal porn, Charlie?" she asked idly, not lifting her head from the magazine. Charlie glanced at her with a look of sheer arrogance. "A guy like me doesn't need porn when the real thing is so easily accessible." Danny flipped over another page. "Yes and I'm sure the biggest turn on for any woman you date is the fact that you still live with your mother. That's extremely sexy, by any standard, and what makes you even sexier is how old you look. Women love sugar daddies. How old are you now anyway? Forty-five?" Danny tried her hardest to hold back a smile. The worst imaginable thing anyone could say to Charlie was to make a comment about his age. He hated the fact that he was turning gray prematurely. "I look mature," He corrected firmly. "You look old." "Mature!" "Old!" "Mature!" "Old!"-Charlie and Danny
******************************************************************************

"What's amazing is that you actually found time to do all this," Charlie said, looking almost impressed. "I mean, in between sacrificing children and buying people's souls." "Eat a dick, Charlie!"-Charlie and Danny

******************************************************************************

"Bitch!" "Dickhead!" "Devil worshipper!" " Grandpa!"-Charlie and Danny
