My Review

4 All your shades of blue stars

Wow what can I say.... I am so happy I requested this book. I have never read Kelly Moore before but I will be reading a lot more of her. Piece by Piece is the 3rd book in the Broken Pieces series and can easily be read as a standalone. I liked this book and all the characters in it so much, that I totally plan of going back and reading the first two books. I really liked Steel. He was broody, sexy, could be playful and charming. He could also sometimes be a jerk but a charming jerk. If you follow my reviews you know I have a thing for Military men ex or not. And I also have a thing for damaged, scarred, pained souls. So the fact that Steel was Air Force, lost a leg, and was hurting just made him like crack for me! What really surprised me though was that Ady stole the show for me. As much as I liked Steel Ady was just awesome. She was so strong, proud, brave, and sassy as hell. I loved that she wanted Steel and she went after him. She didn't let him feel sorry for himself. She got him to open up and let her in. I loved their relationship. They had some great chemistry. I enjoyed the flow of the story and I really liked the plot. Steel's brother Syn and Cousin Gray were both very charming in their own way. I can't wait for their books. I am dying to get my hand on Gray's book after this book gave us her back story. Please Kelly Moore don't make us wait long. I need to know what happens with Gray!

Overall a great read. I am so glad I found this author. Below I leave my favorite quote from the book:

"Um Heidi, is that a stateroom that you put our luggage in?" I point in the direction of the door she used when she disappeared with our duffel bags. She looks at me confused. "Yes, it is, Miss Cage. If you are tired I could entertain Mr. Nolan while you rest." "No, I'm not one bit tired, I just wanted to know where I could go fuck Mr. Nolan's brains out in private." I pat the cushioned seat next to Steel. "Unless, of course, you would like to watch."- Ady and Heide

4 Mine, Princess Stars

Dare You To Run is the 2nd book in the Unbroken Heroes Series. It can be read as a standalone just fine but it does have a continuing story line from book 1 which did make a few things get a little fuzzy. But only about the bad guy Tyler Martin, not the main couple. This is my first time reading anything by Dawn Ryder and I really enjoyed her writing. I will say that I didn't care for the main couples names Vitus and Damascus. All I could think was how weird it would be to be calling out those names in the heat of passion. Their names were the only thing I didn't like about them. Vitus was sexy, alpha and could be really sweet. Damascus was brave, smart and there was something very charming about her. I felt they had a ton of heat and passion. Maybe a bit too much. There was a ton of sex in this book and I am good with sex in books. Love me some good sex in books but there was just so much in this book that I started skimming the sex scenes. The ending was very sweet and I really liked how the plot is going to carry on to the next book. I liked Saxon(Vitus's brother) I know his book is next and I can't wait to get my hands on it. The little peek of his book at the end of this one just makes me want it more!

2 Instant Cheese Stars

Spoilers

Trusting The Seal, is the 3rd book in the Saving the Seals Series. It's the 1st book I read in the series. It did okay as a standalone. I didn't have a hard time following it but I could tell it was a storyline that carried on from book to book. What did make it hard to read was the fact that chapter 4 and 5 were switched. Of course when I figured that out I just used the table of contents to read it in the right order and make sense of everything. However I didn't really care for this book. It's a shorter read and it was total insta-love. I'm okay with Insta-love if I feel a connection with the couple and in this book I didn't. They didn't really have a relationship. They only got together one time and that was it. All the kissing, sex everything was in that few pages then it was just business partners again. There was very little with the couple together even just spending time together. I learned more about the mission, Toni's dad, and the food than them as people. I don't even call them a couple because they weren't really together. Then Toni acted like a child and fired him because she was mad at her dad and took it out on Spencer. At the end she shows up, and she loves him and he loves her. Really? How? How did we get for point A to point B? I didn't get it and I didn't invest in them. On top of all that the one sex and couple like scene was so full of cheesy lines that I was rolling my eyes. Spencer could really pour on the cheese. Sorry but this just wasn't a good read for me. It wasn't super bad but just meh!

4 Cradle Robbing Stars

*Mild Spoilers*

"Well? What are you going to choose?" "Depends." "On what?" "Are you read to spread your legs for me?"-Evelyn and Amarok

Let me just say that when I started this book I honestly wasn't very excited. It took so long (a year) for this book to come since I read the last book Hanover House, that I lost interest. I hate when books take forever to come out. I read 100s of books and I tend to forget something I read a year and 200 books in the past. The good news is that Brenda Novak did a great job of grabbing my attention immediately and had me hooked on the story from page 1. I really enjoyed this book almost as much as the Hanover House (the first book). It was an excitingly suspenseful thriller that kept be guessing til the end. The only thing I didn't really like was how much Evelyn was trippin' over herself dating a younger man. Amarok was 7 years younger then her and the way she went on you would have thought she was 60 and he was 18. She used it to push him away and it got on my nerves. I can understand that a older woman might feel a little insecure, but He was 29 and she was 36 that isn't a huge deal and she made herself out to be a cradle robbing cougar.

"You didn't mind being my friend last night. Maybe we didn't have sex, but we came damn close to it. I can still smell you on my fingers."-Amarok

Quick question Amarok why haven't you washed your damn hands yet?? lol

The age difference was just a little bit too much. Evelyn and Amarok already had a ton to overcome with her horribly traumatizing past and the age thing just felt like overkill drama. Other than that I really loved this book. I was absolutely over the moon for Amarok. He was so sexy, understanding, charming, and just an all around good guy that he really made the book for me. Evelyn was also very endearing. She had lived through something that would have broke many but she has been fighting back and empowering herself since she was a teen. I loved her drive and understood her pain and fear of a relationship. I was glad that she was brave. I love strong, smart, take charge heroines! I also felt that Evelyn and Amarok's relationship was realistic and very sweet. It wasn't rushed which is good because after everything Evelyn suffered I wouldn't believed their feelings if she just jumped into a relationship without problems and fear. Amarok was so support. God I loved him!

"I didn't expect this. Not so soon." "I figure if I want you to lower your defenses, I have to lower mine first. One of us has to take the lead. I can't put that on you, not after all you've been through." "So you're going to be our fearless leader?" she teased. "I'm going to fight for what I'm feeling," he said. "In spite of Jasper. You already mean too much to me. I don't want to lose you."-Evelyn and Amarok

"I hope you don't mind that Penny knows we're together." "We're together?" she echoed.
"I'm not merely worshiping at your feet?"-Amarok and Evelyn

The action and suspense in this book was great. The whole in the psychopath minds thing was very interesting. The quotes at the start of each chapter from real life serial killers really upped the creepy, thrill factor for me. This book kept me guessing. Just when I thought I knew who the bad guy was something else would happen then I was guessing again. It kept the book's pace flowing and I never got bored. The ending OMG the ending was so subtlety creepy that it gave me chills. It also gave a glimpse of things to come. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. I just hope I don't have to wait a year for it. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic suspense and criminal mind thrillers.

Dex

Book Review of Dex (Kinky Shine series)

Title: Dex

Series: Kinky Shine Series

Author:

Date Published: May 3rd 2016

Date Read:    August 20, 2016

The Blurb:

She succeeded in making him feel like a man. A normal functioning man when he hadn’t felt that way in years.

"Who're you f*cking?"

When my father, manager of the worldwide phenomenon Kinky Shine, asked me to come and help the band members appear more approachable I never thought my first meeting with Dex Bowers would start with such a question.

Immediately, I wanted to strangle him, wipe the smirk off his face and force him to mutter more than three words.

But there's something mysterious about him that was electrifying and the more he pushed me away and angered me, the more I wanted to know him and push through his hangups.

"Trust. That f*cking trust thing didn't come easily to me."

In the five years since my band became famous, not once had I been photographed with a woman. I knew it fed the supposed mystery surrounding me, but the real truth was far more humiliating than I was comfortable with.

That was until Harley Floyd walked in and I was left with a mind numbing lust for her that scared me shitless. It should be easy to let go and trust her just enough to have fun, to be happy I could finally come up with new material for our next album. But nothing was easy and with a life made of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll I wasn't sure if anything could last. Not even my band.

"What twenty-five year old was f*cking lost when his cock was rock hard when close to a gorgeous woman?  One answer to that; a man who hadn’t had sex in a really long time."

My Review

4 I'm with the band Stars

*Mild Spoilers*

Dex the first book in the Kinky Shine series was a really good read. I don't read many Rockstar romances because a ton of them have cheating and that is a huge pet peeve of mine. But when I saw Dex I was drawn to the cover. I liked the blurb and decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. I really enjoyed this book. I was also really surprised and happy to see there was not other woman drama or cheating in this book.

I really liked everyone in this book. I liked the main couple Dex and Harley. I liked the other band members, Harley's parents and I liked Del, Harley's best friend. Dex was the lead singer and song writer for the band Kinky Shine. Dex was a broody, sexy, asshole with charm and a ton of issues. Dex hasn't been with a woman at all in 2 years and hasn't had sex in 7 years. His issues made him endearing and I could totally understand his grumpy attitude. Harley was a cute blend of sassy and shy. A blogger for Music bands Harley is there to get Kinky Shine on social media. Harley and Dex have a strong connection from the start but because of Dex's issues he pushes her away.

I loved that only Harley got to Dex. That he only had eyes for her. It made her special and their relationship sweeter. I also loved how understanding and supportive Harley was to Dex. When he would get scared or upset and freak out. Harley was quick to forgive, but Dex was quick to say sorry too. Which in my book made him easier to forgive not that he ever did anything too awful. In this book we get to meet the other members of the band Maxen, Beckett, and Otis . I really liked Beck, Otis, and Maxen. They were all very different and charming in their own way. I felt the author did a great job of drawing me in as a reader and getting me invested in the other band members lives. Which makes me want to read all their books. Especially Beck's for some reason I really clicked with him. I believe Maxen's books is next to come out and I can't wait.

Book Review of Furious Rush

Title: Furious Rush

The Blurb:

For Mackenzie Cox, racing motorcycles is in her blood. Born into a family legacy, she's determined to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in this male-dominated sport. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonised by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense - and strictly forbidden - attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie needs a win, and she also needs to stay away from Hayden. Unfortunately for her though, one thing has become all too clear: she can't.

My Review

3 I have conflicting emotions about this book Stars

Some Spoilers

I am confused as to how I feel about this book. So I gave it a middle ground 3 star rating. The first half of the book was slow starting, and dragged a little, but when it got going I really started to enjoy it. Then I started getting really angry over things some of the secondary characters were doing. Then the ending made me want to bash my kindle in with a hammer.

Sooooooo Yeahhhh like I said conflicting emotions. I loved Hayden. He was loyal, sexy, charming, street smart with just a touch of bad boy. Kenzie I liked but it took me a while to warm to her. She was very uptight and at times she would come off as a bit of a bitch. But as the book goes on and you see all the pressure and stress she has I could see where she was coming from. Then by the half way mark after she fell in love with Hayden she changed. She loosened up, pulled the stick out of her butt, started breaking rules and lived a little. Which I really liked. Kenzie and Hayden made a cute couple. They had major sexual tension and lots of passion when they got together. S.C. Stephens can write some very hot, yummy, sex scenes.

My biggest problem with this book was I hated Kenzie's dad, Keith, and Hookup. Those 3 asshats just kept ticking me off. Kenzie's Dad Jordan came off very selfish and uncaring. The things he did to Kenzie are unforgivable and I truly hated him. Keith and hookup were no better. The end of this book was kind of a shock to the system. I bet my mouth dropped open. Something happens that made me want to smash my kindle and add to that a ton of unfinished business and I am guessing there will be another book. Which of course I will be picking up because I have to know what happens.
