My Review

I am so annoyed right now . So I am not going to even bother with writing a real review for Renegade , because The author didn't really bother to write a real book! If she didn't bother why should I? WTH? seriously this was all filler, where's the beef? This book was so damn repetitious and tedious I had to slam My head into a wall to stay awake!!! Her innocence , little fairy, amethyst eyes, fire in his arms, Her innocence , little fairy, amethyst eyes, fire in his arms. Okay already we get it she has amethyst eye, she is innocence, she looks like a fucking fairy she is short and she is like fire in your arm no need to say it page after flippin page all through the damn book. Then there was the whole I can't stay with her, but I can't leave her , I can't stay , I can't leave. Blah blah blah . Oh and lets not forget a virgin here , a virgin there , here a virgin there a virgin everywhere a virgin.... Really another heroine who is a virgin saving herself yet just gives it away away to the hero almost as soon as they meet, even though he can't stay!

This is a book of sex after sex after sex with minimal character or relationship development. I am so over this series , I wish to God I could walk away and not read the last book Live Wire, Damn my OCD!!!!

Black Jack

Book Review of Black Jack (Elite Ops Series)

Title: Black Jack

Series: Elite Ops

Author: Lora Leigh

Date Published:   March 2nd 2010

The Blurb:
The Secret Service can’t control him. The British government can’t silence him. But renegade agent Travis Caine is one loose cannon you don’t want to mess with, so his commanders cut him a break—and cut him loose. His new HQ is America’s top intelligence force, Elite Ops. His new code name is “Black Jack.” And his new assignment is to die for.

She’s smart, sexy, scintillating—and one of Elite Ops’ savviest agents. Lillian Belle’s code name is “Night Hawk,” and Travis certainly wouldn’t mind flying a few midnight maneuvers with her. But when their mission turns into a red-hot game of danger, deceit, and double-crossed signals, Travis begins to wonder: Can he trust her? Can he resist her?

My Review

                 3.5 Mommy Dearest Stars

“God help me, I missed you,” he groaned as his lips tore from hers and moved to her jaw, her neck. “Missed seeing you, touching you.”

So Black Jack is the 4th book in the Elite Ops series. This series started so strong. The last book was blah at best and this one was just a hair above blah. This book could have been so good, but instead it seemed kinda generic and repetitious. You can take the H/H names from the other books and swamp em and no one would probably notice. The sex scenes were kinda boring since they are almost the same scene over and over and over again. The plot was a very small little bit better than the last book , but not by much , because the plot wasn't really believable. Lilly was a Agent of the Elite ops that gets shot and has amnesia, so they sent her home to her old life with a cover story. Then watch her because if she remembers who she and they are they would have to take her out. Why? She was one of you if she remembers how is that a threat. You trusted her for 6 years. I didn't get that. Why not just say hey if you want to keep your life don't say anything or else. It just didn't seem real. They have been her friends and she was trusted and she covered their backs for 6 years and they are just gonna kill her if she remembers instead of when she woke up in the hospital after being shot and didn't remember just telling her hey this is what happened, and we are gonna send you home to try and draw out the killer P. S. don't tell no one or your dead. They all lied to her and turned their backs on her when she needed them. What a great team! It annoyed the crap out of me !

“Well, excuse me for not twiddling my thumbs while I wait on you to take care of poor little ole me.”

Travis really didn't stand out to me other than he is the so smooth hero that took the heroine virginity with almost no foreplay just a few kisses and some head for him then he just puts her up on a desk and goes for it. Other than that he was just kinda there just your everyday elite ops guy kinda cookie cutter.

“You were my first, weren’t you?” She knew it, sensed it. “I was your only,” he growled, possessiveness raging in his tone and fulfilling some need she hadn’t known existed within her.

“I’m Lord Xavier Travis Dermont,” he whispered. “I’ve danced with you and once watched your eyes fill with dreams, and in that second knew I had taken the wrong woman to wife. I knew, Lilly, because that was the moment I first fell in love with you.”

“You’re mine, damn you,” Travis said as he lifted her and placed her ass on the counter behind her. “You were always mine.”

Lilly was also pretty cookie cutter. Sassy, don't really know who the hero really is but she feels drawn to him and she's sexing him all the time even though she knows he is a lying sack and he is keeping things from her, she just trusts him!

“I might not remember jack shit but don’t think I don’t know what I’m doing. And don’t think I will ever tolerate you disappearing like that again without one word of warning. Not while you’re sleeping in my fucking bed.”

“So what is this relationship then? Or is it not even a relationship? Friends with benefits? Fuck buddies? What, Travis? Tell me the rules now so I at least know what to expect the next time you decide to disappear for however long.”

“I love you, Travis,” she whispered as she laid her head on his shoulder. “I love you.”

“And I’m a possessive bastard, Lilly. Did I ever mention that?” She shook her head. No, he hadn’t mentioned that at all. Perhaps he should have; she would have melted far sooner. “So that would make this relationship fairly exclusive, wouldn’t you say?” He jerked the hem of her robe to her thighs. “That makes you mine, baby. No friends with benefits. No fuck buddies. Simply fucking mine.”

This book was okay , the editing was better than the last book. Travis and lilly together where cute, Lilly's mother was a royal bitch . The ending felt super rushed and you don't really know what happens to them just that they stay together. Nothing about if she works for the team anymore or any real wrapping up of the story just a "Hey baby I'm staying with you " "Really baby you're staying Cool" The End. Not a bad read but it truly could have been so much better I am disappointed and a little scared to start the next one. Damn my OCD!! I will have to finish the series or it will drive me crazy , but I am not getting my hopes up that the next will be much better.

My Review

3 Who the Fuck is Jules Mate? Stars

“Damn you, I can’t think of anything but this some days. You’re my weakness, Bailey. And my strength.”

Well hmmm. OKay I would tell you what this story is about but I'm not sure I truly know! To say this book was a little confusing is a understatement, lets put it this way . I felt like I should have been taking notes or had a guide to keep up. I had to go back a few times and try to figure shit out and then I just got kinda pissed about it! I will try anyway to tell you what the story is about bare with me..... Ok so Heat Seeker is the 3rd book in the Elite Ops Series. In this story we meet John Vincent who use to be Trent a Australian Secret Intelligence Agent. He had been working under cover with CIA Agent Bailey Serborne for a few months they fall in love have one night of passion and sex and then when he is leaving to go get breakfast , someone tries to blow him up. He gets fixed up by Elite Ops signing on with them and letting everyone believe he died including Bailey. Fast forward 6 years . (P.S the book says 5 years and then a 1 year later but still says 5 years so some editor somewhere doesn't work well with numbers Just sayin!) Okay so here is where shit goes to hell for me. So Bailey is fired from the CIA or quites not sure which, and she goes home where she is super rich and she is playing a rich woman who got fired so that she can trick the bad guy "Mr Warbucks" in to trusting her, believing her to be angry over losing her job and willing to turn on her government and join the dark side. How she does this is by living a normal rich girl life, parties, shopping, but for some confusing reason that works for her because Mr Warbucks is watching her and is going to let her choose the Arms Dealer he is going to hire to sell some super kick ass missiles, but he doesn't tell her she is to pick. I guess he posted a bad guy bulletin and told all brokers hey it's Baileys choice!!! John comes to her asking her to work with him acting like he is her lover and her choice of Dealers so they can save the world together from Evil Mr Warbucks ( lame ass name). And the Confusion gets worse from there because then we meet a slew of new characters, Dealers, John's team, Warbucks's men, other rich people, suspects that could be Mr. Warbucks, and a few assassins. The editing is so bad and towards the end someone name Jules just comes outta no where and I'm like Who the fuck is Jules?? I think she might be Mary but who the hell knows for sure.

“What is it, then? You aren’t jealous that another man holds my heart? Don’t you care that I want to call out his name when I’m coming around your cock?”

John was ok for me. He didn't really stand out just kinda there. Not much depth I mean he was kick ass and all ,but other than that you don't learn much about him. He is suppose to be funny and playful , but you don't really get to see that in this book.

“I remember, love,” he whispered as a soft sob tore from her lips. “I remember every touch, every kiss. I remember you like a dream that saves my soul.”

“We’ll never speak of this again,” he insisted roughly, his own heart breaking as her eyes filled with tears again. “Tonight, Bailey. Just tonight, we forget where we are, who we have to be. Just for tonight.”

“I will always love you.” He couldn’t hold the words back. “Until my last breath, sweet Bailey. I’ll love only you.”

Bailey was a little better than John because she was sassy, and kicked ass, but she also didn't have much depth.

“Do I still love him?” She wanted to laugh at the bitter irony of the question. “I love a memory, don’t I? Trent is gone forever. Dead men don’t rise from the grave, do they, John? They don’t come back to the lovers who weep for them, and they don’t hold the women who dream for them. They’re just gone. Aren’t they?”

“I dreamed of this,” she whispered on a sob as she buried her lips against his neck. “I dreamed of you touching me, holding me again. Loving me. Love me, Trent. One more time.”

“I want to hold on to you forever,” she sobbed against his shoulder. “Don’t let go of me, John. Not yet.”

Now I did enjoy some of the story mainly their relationship. John and bailey in the sack are hott. I really enjoyed the touching love making in the shower when he lets her know who he is , even though she already knew. I really didn't care for the story plot it was just too damn all over the place for me to keep up and kinda bordered on boring. I normally don't trip on editing problems, but it was so bad in this book that it really took away from the story and made a confusing plot harder to follow. Now I got my copy from the library (Thank God I didn't buy it or I would have been ticked) , but I hope they have went back and fixed the errors since it's been a few years since the book first came out. This book was ok, I hope the next one is better.......

My Review

4.5 Emotionally gutted Stars

“There’s no shame between us, baby. Only pleasure. Only the pleasure you want.”

“Let’s hope he tries to kill me soon then,” she said in irritation. “Or I might kill you while we are waiting.”

Holy Crap!!! My emotions are all over the place with this book. whew *Deep Breath* Maverick is the Second book in the Elite Ops Series. In this book we have Micah Sloane , he is after the assassin Orion , who killed his mother and father. Orion is after Risa Clay one of the women saved in the last book by Nathan Malone. Micah is going to pose as her lover and get him when he tries to make the hit on Risa. The problem with that is Risa has been trying to put her life together and heal after being raped, drugged up on Whores dust, and then held for 2 years in a psychiatric ward and drugged some more. All of this because of her father, a evil bastard who was not only behind his daughters rape, he held her down while she was raped! Using her as bait not only feels wrong to Micah, but he feels a strong pull to her . Now he is trying to catch a killer, keep Risa alive , and not hurt her anymore emotionally, all while he is falling in love with her. He knows he will have to walk away dead men don't have dreams, family, or lovers!

“You’re not weak, Risa. And I have never pitied you. Not even once. I have always been in awe of your courage and your tenacity to survive.”

Micah Sloane:

Micah was hot as hell!! He was so sweet , protective, and very playful , but also cocky, and arrogant. The way he talked was OMG Sexy! I couldn't help but fall in love with him. I loved that he was so understanding, but not treating her like a baby. He was strong for her and helped her grow and heal. And Sexy did I mention sexy ...... Totally sexy! Damn he was hott! When he would tell her he loved her in hebrew omg melted!

“I’m very tired,” he informed her. “A little minx kept me up well past my bedtime last night, then skipped out on me and forced me to follow after her. I stared into her window like a lovesick Romeo pining for her attention.”

“I want to push you against that wall behind you and pound into you while you’re screaming my name. I want to feel your tight pussy convulsing around my cock and hear you screaming my name. And when we’re done there, I’ll slide you to the floor and take you again. You’re within minutes of being fucked, baby. I’d move if I were you.”

“Ani ohev otach.” I love you. “Me’achshav ve’ad hanetzach.” From now to eternity

Risa Clay:

God did Risa live through hell........ I loved Risa thought she was perfect. She was so strong for someone that was tortured the way she was. She was brave and fought to heal and live even while fear consumed her. She struggles with trying to feel like a woman and her feelings for Micah all while a killer is after her and having to face the demons from her past. Risa was very real to me I connected with her and my heart bled for her.

“When I saw you, Micah, I knew I had to. I didn’t want to change my mind. I didn’t want to run from you. I just wanted you.”

“Leave me my pride, Micah. Get the hell out of my life now if you’re going to go. Don’t sit here and make me beg you to stay.”

“Please, Micah. If you’re leaving me in the morning, then leave now. Don’t wait until I’m asleep in your arms, or feeling the hope that you’ll stay. I couldn’t handle it.”

“I could stay here, covering you like a blanket meant to protect, forever,” he whispered at her ear. “You are a light that will always guide me, a whisper I’ll always strain to hear.”

Hawt Dayum the Chemisty between these two was smoken hott!!!! They are one of those couples that just draws you in and you connect to them like they are real! Such Intense passion. I loved them, I hurt for them, and cheered for them when they got their HEA!!! I thought Jordan was kinda a dick in this book. This story line was very emotional. It made me want to cry, smile, laugh, yell and hit something all in the span of a few pages, but damn it was a great book. I am on to the next book. Below I leave my favorite moment for the book:

“Why are you in jeans?” she asked breathlessly. “You were naked when you got in the bed.” A smile tugged at his lips. “I pulled them on when I heard Jordan and Tehya enter the apartment. Couldn’t let them see my bare ass, darling. Tehya’s frisky. She would have patted it.” Risa wanted to smile at his teasing. “I’d break her hand,” she promised. “I knew I could trust you to help me hold on to my dignity.”

Wild Card

Book Review of Wild Card (Elite Ops Series)

Title: Wild Card

Series: Elite Ops

Author: Lora Leigh

Date Published: September 2008

The Blurb:
It was supposed to be simple. All Navy SEAL Nathan Malone had to do was rescue three young girls from a Colombia drug cartel, then allow himself to be captured just long enough to draw out a government spy. That was before his mission went disastrously wrong…and before his wife, Bella, was told that Nathan was never coming home.

Bella’s mourned her husband’s death for three long years. But she has no idea he’s still alive. Forced to assume a new identity, the man Nathan was is now dead. If he can get back to his wife, can he keep the secret of who he really is…even as desire threatens to consume them? And as danger threatens to tear Bella from Nathan’s arms once more?

My Review

                         4 go síoraí Stars

"A man that's whole. That's what you deserve, Sabella. And I'm not whole any longer. I haven't been in a long time."

So Wild Card is the first book in the Elite Ops Series, and the first book I have read by the author Lora Leigh, and I loved it. Life is good for Nathan Malone. He is a Navy Seal. Married to his beautiful, young, soul mate. When not out on missions for the Seals, he is running his mechanic shop. He goes out on what he thinks will be a simple in and out mission rescue three young girls from a Colombia drug cartel, but instead he is captured, beat, had almost every bone in his body broke, cut up, and pumped full of a drug called Whores dust for months and months before being rescued. By the time they get him out his wife Sabella was already told that he was dead. He is insane from all the drugs and pain, so he refuses to let the Seals tell his wife the truth that he is still alive and very messed up, instead he gives her up for her own good. He leaves the Seals for a group called The Elite Ops. Now Nathan is legally dead he takes on a the name Noah Blake, cold, super trained and deadly. It's been 6 years since his wife Sebella was told he was dead and he is being sent back to his home town to his home, and garage because his wife and brother are in danger, can he keep himself from feeling again. Will Noah be able to stay away from his bella, or will he find out he is not as dead inside as he thought?

"Why are you so frightened of this?" he whispered then. "Or are you just too frightened to live again?"

Noah /Nathan:

Noah, Noah , Noah what am I gonna do with you!!!!!! Noah made me love him and want to beat him in equal measure! He was sexy, strong, all alpha , Irish, but he was also bull headed, prideful, and at times selfish. Don't get me wrong he was really messed up, lived through hell, but in my book letting your wife think your dead for years, because you are scared that she can't handle how messed up you are, or you don't want her to see how weak you are is selfish!!! I loved that he was a total dirty talking bad boy, Loved that he remained faithful to his wife, loved his protectiveness, and at the same time I wanted to beat the shit outta him because he wouldn't tell his wife who he really was. I think him hiding who he was from her for almost the whole book made him kind of a candy ass! Like I said equal amounts of love for him and wanting to beat him!!!! I think Lora Leigh did a really good job of making you understand what he was feeling . The fear that his wife wouldn't forgive him because he didn't send for her and let her know he was alive, the fear that he wouldn't be able to stay with her because he was part of the Elite Ops, and his pain and regret over his past mistakes. Fighting to win his wife's heart again from the ghost of himself.

"Tell me, Sabella. Did you ache? Did you dream of being taken hard and rough? Of getting wild and dirty with your husband? Were you too afraid to be the little wildcat you wanted to be?"

"Get that in your head, Sabella. I am not Nathan Malone. I am not the man you loved, but by God I am the man that's going to fuck you. That's going to hold you when you cry in the night, and the man that's going to bind you to him so tight, so hard, that you'll never think to hide even a partical of who and what you are from him."

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me," he finally said. "In my life, touching you, holding you, is the best thing I've ever done. But shit happens, baby. And shit blew up in my face a long damned time ago."

Sabella:

I loved Sabella. I loved her name, loved her personality. She was strong when she needed to be, soft when she needed to be. Loyal, sweet, understanding , forgiving , but she wasn't a doormat. I could empathize with her, understand her pain, confusion and longing, she never felt fake to me. She was very brave and fought for her man. Smart figured out who he was right away and knew their was a important reason he wasn't telling her.

"If I wanted a manicure then I would have one. If I wanted to sit back and play receptionist all day then that's what the hell I would do. If I wanted another man to decide how I should act, dress, or present myself then I'd have one. That is not a part of your job description, Mr. Blake, and if you think you can make it happen then you can take a flying leap into hell."

"It was my right." She was back in his face. "Do you hear me, Noah? My fucking right to put up with it. And to do it gladly. You bastard!"

"You are my husband. My lover. And you hid that from me, Noah. I had the dark passion you hid from me while we were married, and I saw the ferocity of the man who would protect me in those mountains. It doesn't matter if your name is Nathan, Noah, or Hey Fucking You, you are my lover. My soul. My heart. And by God, you are not dead. Because if you were." Her lips trembled. "If you were, then I'd be dead. Don't you know that? Don't you see that? If the man that loved me was gone, then I'd be ashes now. Not standing here screaming at a moron with more pride than good sense."

"I carried your scratches last week like other men carry a medal," he growled, then nipped her lips. "I jacked off remembering how hot you were in my arms. And then I imagined your mouth. Watching your eyes. Seeing how hungry you could get."

Noah and Bella together had tons of chemistry and tons of drama. I loved them together, and I was rooting for them to make it the whole book. I loved Rory, Noah's brother, he was great , so was nik and Jordan. This book had a great plot, and made me feel. There is only two reasons this book is a solid 4 star book instead of a 5.

1. there was 2 sex scenes too many!!!! My eyes kinda glazed over there was so much sex

2. I think Noah should have told her who he was sooner!

Other than that I think this is a great start to the series and I can't wait to read the next one. I leave my favorite moment in the book below:

"I'm telling you. I have to tell Grandpop, and we're all gonna pay. All of us. Tell him that one for me. He does it again and we're all screwed 'cause I'm squealin' like a pig to the old man and savin' my own ass first. You tell him that."

Smiley

Book Review of Smiley (New Species Series)

Title: Smiley

Series: New Species Series

Author: Laurann Dohner

Date Published:  October 28th 2014

The Blurb:
Vanni is furious when her fiancé tricks her into attending a conference where his father’s church is protesting the New Species Organization. She hates everything those vile bigots stand for. Vanni goes to the bar to cool off and ends up seated next to a handsome New Species. Things heat up fast when they are both drugged.

Smiley doesn't want to believe the sweet human would dose them with the breeding drug. He's willing to trust her and determined to save her life. He'll hold her. Protect her. Offer up his body to distract them both from the pain. She is his female, even if she doesn't realize it yet.

My Review

3.5 Hmmm

“I remember when I used to be in charge,” Justice mused. “I even have the nice office and desk.”

Really? What a let down! Smiley is the first primate book of the series, and I really liked smiley in the other books , but this was just kinda sad. So Smiley is the 13th book in the New Species Series. Vanni, tricked by her fiancé to attend one of his father's church protest, is mad. She doesn't want anything to do with her soon to be father n laws hate church or want to support the lies they spit about the NSO. She goes to the bar to have a tea and finds herself drugged with the breeding drug . The nice NS male next to her, Smiley is also Drugged. With the drugs in their system they go at each other like animals. Now Vanni is all over the news and her life will never be the same!

“You’re so tight.” His voice deepened. “My dick is envious.”

Smiley for me was ok , there were times when I liked him , but then at times he fell flat for me. I liked that he was fun, playful, and at times he could be very sexy. Maybe if they spent more time together I could have got to see more of smiley and connected to him better.

“I’m already in love with you. I have been since we bonded in the back of that SUV. You trusted me to care for you and put your faith in me. You’ll never know what that meant. I went insane when I woke up and learned you’d run away from the task force members. I couldn’t eat or sleep. I worried that you were out there afraid and alone. That someone would hurt you. I want to protect you and keep you safe. I want you in my arms, in my home and with me all the time. I hate being apart from you. You’re all I think about.”

“I’d kill you but I don’t want Vanni to see it. You’re a piece of shit and you’re never going to see daylight again. You never deserved her. She will be happy while you learn what hell is.” He lowered his voice even more. “That doesn’t mean she will always be on the other side of the glass. I can visit you at any time. Let’s give you six months of living in a cage and I bet you will want to hit me then. We are going to fight at some point. Know that.”

Vanni was totally blah for me. I didn't like that she was with someone when the book started. I get that he was a jerk, but I still didn't like it. Vanni was naive , a little immature, boring , and flat! She didn't work for me at all. There is nothing that stands out to me about her , hell I can't even tell you what color her hair and eyes are ( was that even in the book? did I miss it?) Blah just Blah!!!!

“I think it’s so romantic that you want to kick someone’s ass over me.”

Vanni released Smiley’s arm and flipped Gregory off. “I always wanted to do that. Screw you, Gregory. Smiley and I are getting married. He’s the best thing that ever happened to me and I wanted you to know it. You did me the biggest favor of my life. Choke on that the next time you open your mouth and spew your hate.”

“I’m yours, Vanni. Say you’re mine. Let’s just do this. I know it might frighten you to take a mate this fast but trust me to be here for you. Take a leap. I’ll catch you. Always.”

There was some hot sex in this book, but Vanni and Smiley as a couple felt rushed, forced, and didn't feel real. They didn't spend enough time together and didn't really stand out. The secondary characters shined more then the main couple. The book as a whole was ok there are parts I really liked and then there was parts that felt boring , but I was really looking forward to smiley and feel really let down. I am hoping that Laurann Dohner writes books for Breeze, Flame, Jericho, and maybe Ven! I am still a fan and can't wait for the next book in this series. Below I leave my favorite moment from the book...

“I love you,” he blurted. “Fuck,” Jericho muttered. The male released him. He seemed to fix his attention on Beth. “Is she as nervous as he is?” “Like a virgin on prom night,” Beth stated. “Yes.
