The Blurb:

ONE BLIZZARD, ONE BUNKHOUSE,AND A WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE . . .

Josie Dawson is new in town, but it doesn't take a local to know that Deke Sullivan is trouble--in a smokin' hot package. He's sweet, sexy, and has charmed just about every woman in Dry Creek, Texas. Well, Josie won't be next. She'll keep her distance, even if he is great with babies and makes a mean cup of homemade hot chocolate.
Deke Sullivan really is a one-woman type of guy. He just had to do a lot of looking to find that one woman. Now he thinks he's found her and he won't let a strong, sassy gal like Josie slip away. Just when he's wondering how to convince her he only has eyes for her, they get stranded in a tiny cabin during a major blizzard. If Deke can melt her heart before they dig out of the snow, he'll be the luckiest cowboy in Texas . . .

My Review

3 Too Slow Stars

I have loved the Lucky Penny Ranch series since book 1. The first 3 books in the series I loved, but this one just didn't do it for me. I had been looking forward to Deke's book and it makes me sad that I didn't really care for this one. I really like Carolyn Brown's writing style and I loved the first 3 couples but I felt nothing for Deke and Josie. I didn't connect to them individually and I didn't feel their relationship. It just fell flat. On top of that the book crawled for me. Deke and Josie didn't really have anything going on until the 69% of the book. The pace was way too slow for me and I found myself getting bored. Now that being said the book wasn't bad and I didn't hate it. I just didn't get into it. I still love Carolyn Brown and I can't wait to try the spin off series!

THIS CHRISTMAS, SANTA'S WEARING A STETSON

'Tis the night before Christmas and all through the house is the presence of one wickedly hot cowboy who's come to stay for the holiday. Fiona Logan is downright shocked to return to her childhood home and find that the tall blond stranger who came to her rescue on an icy road will be sleeping just across the hall from her bedroom. Talk about temptation . . .

Jud Dawson never believed the Lucky Penny Ranch would live up to its name until now. Fiona is gorgeous, smart, funny, and everything he thought he'd never find. Now all he has to do is convince her to stick around town instead of hightailing it back to Houston. But with wild weather, nosy neighbors, and a new baby in the family, getting her to admit that she's falling in love might just take a Christmas miracle.

4 Putting down roots Stars

Merry Cowboy Christmas, the 3rd book in the Lucky Penny Ranch Series, was a great read. Having read the other two books as well I am a real fan of this series and I feel really attached to all the characters. I fell in love with each of the Dawson Men as I read each of their love stories. And although Toby and Lizzy's story will always be my favorite, I really enjoyed Jud, and Fiona's love story.

Jud was just as sexy as his cousins Toby and Blake, but he wasn't as wild. He was ready to have a family, put down roots. Not just with any woman he wanted the right woman. That woman was the fiery redheaded Logan sister that just came back home. Jud was sweet. He had such a big heart I just couldn't help but fall in love with him. From the way he fell in love and supported Fiona and her dreams to the way he went about helping an old man that treated his family like crap. He was hard working, smart, hot, and all heart. Jud was just an all around great hero. Fiona was sweet like the other Logan sisters, but she felt like she didn't really belong. Her sisters had their place, their jobs, what they were going to do in life, where they belong, and she wanted to fit in too. Like most redheads she had a bit of a cute temper and she could be sassy. She was also loving, loyal, and very smart.

I loved Jud and Fiona together. They didn't just have heat and passion, although they had plenty of that. They had a deep friendship too. I loved that this book took place at Christmas time. I am a sucker for Christmas romances. I watch the Hallmark channel Christmas movies almost religiously. So ate up the sweet Christmas time vibe this book gave off. I also enjoyed that fact that Truman and Dora June sweetened up a lot in this book, while still being believable. I will say that I wish Fiona hadn't been so wishy washy for so long, but then again I could understand it in a way. I also loved how it all worked out and the ending was super sweet. I seen at the end of the book that the next book coming is Wicked Cowboy Charm and that it's Deke and Josie (Jud's sister) Dawson's story. I can not wait ..... CAN'T WAIT ...to watch Deke be taken down. Deke with his wild ways going through women like they are water. I just can't wait to see love knock him on his butt! A great read. I would recommend It to anyone who loves Christmas romances and sexy cowboys!

The Blurb:

LET'S GIVE 'EM SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT . . .

If gossip is the lifeblood of a small town, then Lizzy Logan has been its beating heart. After being dumped by her fiancé for another woman, she could have decided to crawl under a rock. But no, she'd rather really set tongues wagging by "moving on" with one of the hottest cowboys in Texas, who happens to live next door at the Lucky Penny Ranch. Those busybodies don't have to know it's actually all pretend. And just because Lizzy has no aim to tame her wild, blue-eyed neighbor doesn't mean she can't enjoy the ride of her life.

Toby Dawson never was and never will be the settling-down type. But what harm could there be in agreeing to be Lizzy's pretend boyfriend? They'll put on a show for a few weeks and be done. Yet the more he gets to know Lizzy-really know her-the harder it is for him to keep his hands off of her in private. Soon this rough-and-ready cowboy is hoping to heal Lizzy's bruised heart and turn their fake affair into a true romance . . .

4.5 Playing for Keeps Stars

Spoilers

Back in December when I got Wild Cowboy Ways the 1st book in this series, I really enjoyed it. I got to know Toby and Lizzy in book 1 and I really loved Lizzy's character. She intrigued me, so when Hot Cowboy Nights showed up in Netgalley I was so excited to get to see Lizzy's story play out. I loved this book!

"Oh, hush! You've already said you aren't the settling type. You can't have wings and roots both, cowboy."-Lizzy

I was a little worried about how I would feel about Toby. In book 1 he was such a man whore that I worried he would push Lizzy away, hurt her, and in turn make me dislike him. But he didn't. I loved Toby! He was sweet, sexy, and really good to Lizzy. I love that even though he was confused, and scared at his strong feelings for Lizzy he never pushed her away. He dated her and he put a lot of thought into wooing her. He let himself be vulnerable and honest and it was super sexy! I thought it was so romantic how he took his time to get to really know her and her dreams.

"Will you go on a date with me Friday night? A real date, not a pretend one? I'll probably be so clumsy that you won't go out with me a second time, but please say yes."-Toby

Lizzy was great for me. She was the main reason I read this book and she didn't let me down. She turned into a great character. I love her growth from book 1 to the end of this book. Lizzy was herself, open, honest and said what she thought. She didn't play games and I loved that. I also loved that Lizzy didn't push Toby or try to make him something he wasn't. She gave him understanding and accepted his past. She saw the awesome that was underneath the sexy player ways. I loved the sassiness Lizzy got in this book. She decided to be herself and didn't let anyone put her or her family down!

"Must be wicked, sexy thoughts about what I'd do with Toby Dawson if I could just peel those jeans off his body and jump his bones, then."-Lizzy

"I couldn't even see that woman because I have blinders on when you are around, and every single thought in my head is about you."-Toby

Lizzy and Toby were an amazingly adorable couple. They were funny, sweet, and supportive. They were real, down to earth, and they had their human moments. They had bad moods, got grumpy and then said sorry. They were honest and didn't play drama games. I felt like I got to be part of their relationship. I was on the journey with them while they got to really know each other and fall in love. There were some really sweet moments and some very funny ones as well. There is this skunk scene that cracked me up. I love when a book gives that to me, that lighthearted laughter. I really enjoyed getting to catch up with Allie, and Blake again. I also really Enjoyed getting to know little sister Fiona. At the end of this book there is a little sneak peek into Merry Cowboy Christmas which I believe is Fiona's book. From what I read in that little teaser I am really excited to read it when it comes out in September 2016. I really loved this book. It was a great easy going, feel good read that made me laugh and smile. Can't wait for the next one!

"I stabbed him," Lizzy said bluntly. "That's how he got that scar." "Why? I'm sorry. That's personal. I shouldn't ask that." She blushed. "It's okay." Lizzy laid a hand on the woman's arm. "I was mad at a woman for flirting with him and he tried to take the knife away from me. It was an accident." "I'll be right back with your drinks and appetizer." She turned so fast that she ran into a bus boy with a tray of dirty glasses and he had to do some fancy footwork to keep it all from hitting the floor. "Lying on Sunday?" Toby chuckled. "The preacher will make you deliver the benediction next week as penance."-Lizzy, A waitress and Toby

The Blurb:
Allie Logan isn't the type to land a hot hunk of cowboy. Truth is, she's given up on dating since shedding her no-good ex. But the new owner of the most ramshackle ranch in Texas might just change her mind about that. He's six-foot-plus of tall, dark, and charming—the kind of guy who could make a girl throw caution to the wind . . . or the kind of guy who could break her heart.

Blake Dawson hopes he can make Lucky Penny Ranch finally live up to its name, but the property needs a ton of work. Allie and her carpentry skills are his best shot at getting things in order. Besides the fact that her brown eyes and dangerous curves have him roped and tied. Now Blake only needs to convince her that a wild cowboy can be tamed by love—and she's just the one to do it.

My Review

                4 Burning bridges Stars

"I can't help it when I'm around you. You don't have any idea how beautiful you are or how you affect a man, do you, darlin'?"-Blake

"I don't care if you are telling me pretty words that you've told lots of women before me. I don't care about your past. I'll burn those bridges for you if you'll hand me a stick of firewood and a match."-Allie

Wild Cowboy Ways, the 1st book in the Lucky Penny Ranch series, was a sweet, enjoyable read. What's not to like, sexy cowboy with wild ways, meets pretty tomboy carpenter that has been burnt by ex. The story had a nice steady pace. Carolyn Brown did a great job of building up the world, characters, and Allie and Blake's relationship. I liked both Allie and Blake. Allie was sweet, she had a little sass to her, and she had a good heart. The only thing I didn't like about Allie was that she sometimes acted like a teen and not a 29 year old woman. She let her mom and sister boss her. Allie's sister Lizzy wanted her to date this guy that creeped Allie out but instead of just saying No and that being that, she lets said guy push himself on her, putting his arm around her and touching her. Her sister kept setting up double date dinners and crap. It was just little things like that, that made Allie feel immature at times. Blake was sexy, hard working, laid back. But if I had to read one more time about another woman just walking up and grabbing him and kissing him I was gonna flip. Not that he kissed them back, but dayum, the man needed to wear a sign that said "Keep your lips to yourself".

"I don't want you to leave the Lucky Penny, so please make it work. I've opened my heart to you. I can argue with you. I can be drunk and shake the hell out of your house and you don't judge me. You don't talk down to me or make me feel like less of a woman because of what I do."-Allie

"What I feel for you goes far above 'like,' Allie Logan. I don't know if it's love because I've never really been in love before. But believe me when I tell you that I admire you for what you do. I think it's downright sexy the way you can crawl up on a roof and fix a ceiling and honey, those cargo pants turn me on."-Blake

Those two things, Allie's immaturity, and the women physically throwing themselves at him every 2 minutes is why I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5. Other then those things Allie and Blake's relationship is very sweet. Allie really makes Blake work for it. Allie's grandma Irene was cracking me up in this book. OMG the things Irene would say. I liked Lizzy for the most part but at times she annoyed me. The ending was super sweet and cute. I really loved the last like 10%, and I had a stupid smile on my face the whole time I read it. I enjoyed the peek at the next book which is Lizzy's book, which I will be reading. This book was a nice lighthearted read.
